Hello, I’m Vinny Moreira — a self-starter entrepreneur and web developer based in Los Angeles. I’ve been learning about technology and the web since 2004. From developing websites to building complex web applications, I love everything that has to do with making the web a better place.

In 2011 after working for many years as web developer for an industry-leading medical marketing company, I founded Vimo Designs - my own website design and development company.

The programming languages I find myself working with most of the time are javascript, PHP, HTML and CSS. However, I also have experience with WordPress, jQuery, bootstrap, unsemantic, meteor.js, mongodb, and Hugo.

The main reason I chose this career of a web developer is that I realized as technology evolved I would be constantly learning and growing. This infinite learning experience to me is priceless!

When I’m not working, I like to travel, take photos, play the guitar, and exercise.

Photography is a hobby that I have always loved. Capturing breath-taking moments in life with a camera is fascinating to me. I enjoy mostly shooting outdoor - everything that has to do with nature, beaches, waterfalls, and animals. Check out my photos.

Traveling is definitely one of the things I enjoy the most. I believe that we can learn so much by exploring new places and by being exposed to other cultures. It is fascinating to me to see the differences in other cultures and people’s lifestyles, and despite all the differences, I believe we all make up to a single force working towards one common purpose.

I’m grateful to have had a chance to travel to a few places around the globe. Throughout my journey I made lots of friendships and met some incredible people who have helped shape me to be the person I am today.

Here are the countries I have visited.

Brazil, Canada, China, Croatia, Dubai, Egypt, France, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Philippines, Portugal, Puerto Rico (USA Territory), Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, United States (home)

My interest in music started during the first years of my life. Influenced by my older brother who would always play guitar around me, I soon developed a desire to learn the guitar. It wasn’t until I was 11 years old when I started taking guitar lessons and got my first cavaquinho as a gift from my mom. After taking lessons for about one year, I went off to learn more on my own and taught myself how to play the guitar.

I enjoy listening to a good variety of music styles, especially instrumental music of any kind when performed live. But my favorite types of music are: Jazz, Bossa Nova, Classical and Samba.

Occasionally, I play gigs around Los Angeles and have traveled within the country playing music.
