Overview

VM Concepts is the digital home for my independent creative studio. The goal was to build something that felt genuinely high-end, the kind of site that gets submitted to Awwwards, not just another agency portfolio. Every interaction was designed to feel cinematic and deliberate, with large typography, scroll-driven animation, and moments that stop you mid-scroll.

The Challenge

Most studio sites look like studio sites. The challenge was building something that didn’t feel templated, a site with a distinct visual language that could hold its own against the best agency work on the web, while still communicating clearly what VM Concepts does and making it easy for potential clients to reach out.

Approach

The design leans heavily on typography scale and whitespace. Large, expressive type sets the tone from the first frame, giving the site a confident, editorial feel without relying on photography or illustration.

For motion, I used GSAP with ScrollTrigger throughout. The hero section features a wave rendered as a frame-by-frame image sequence. As the user scrolls down, the wave crashes into view, creating a physical sense of momentum that draws you into the page.

The services section shifts to horizontal scroll, with each offering sliding in from the right as the background color transitions between panels. The five services are Brand Identity, UX/UI Design, Web Development, Mobile Apps, and Ongoing Support. The color shift is gradual and smooth, making the section feel like a single continuous experience rather than a series of discrete slides.

The full stack is Nuxt and Vue with TypeScript, giving the project a solid, component-driven foundation that keeps the codebase clean even as the interactions get complex.

Key Details

The hero wave is driven frame by frame via GSAP ScrollTrigger, giving the entrance a physical sense of weight and momentum. The horizontal scroll services section transitions the background color continuously between panels so the whole section reads as one fluid experience. Typography is large and expressive at every breakpoint, and all motion respects prefers-reduced-motion.

Outcome

The site reflects the level of craft VM Concepts brings to client work, built to compete visually with the best independent studio sites on the web and leave a strong first impression on anyone who lands on it.
